The Enchantments Lottery Cheat Codes

The Enchantments lottery is one of the most popular hiking lotteries in the United States. In 2024, you only had a 7% chance of getting a permit. But you can increase your chances of success, and here is how to do it.

Which zone to pick?

Enchantment permits are issued for one of five zones. The permit for the Core Enchantment Zone is the most popular because it’s the only one that also allows camping in other zones. To add to its desirability, the Core Enchantment Zone sits right in the middle of the Enchantments Trail, making it the perfect camp spot for the popular hike.

When to go?

May, June, and October have the highest chances of success. However, the conditions may be less favorable. And starting your trip on Sunday gives you the best odds of success.

How to get a permit

Enter the lottery on Recreation.gov between February 15 and March 1, 2026.

What if I don’t win the lottery?

  • Book unclaimed lottery permits on April 1, 2026 at 7 AM PT.
  • Enter the daily lottery. ~25% of permits are issued a day before the start date between 7 and 10 AM PT. To apply, you must be located within 1 mile of the Wenatchee River Ranger Station in Leavenworth. The daily lottery is closed for trips starting on Sundays and Mondays.
  • Snag canceled permits. When people cancel their permit, it goes back to Recreation.gov where it can be re-booked. You can use Outdoor Status Alerts to get notified when we find canceled permits.
