I hope you had a summer full of outdoor adventures! Enjoy the next few months before 2027 permits start opening up. However, if you’d like to experience the backcountry this winter, know that most parks still require permits, but they are easy to get!
Notable deadlines in October
- Angels Landing: enter the lottery October 1–20 for trips between December 1, 2026 and February 28, 2027 (tips).
California
Inyo — overnight
