I hope you’re feeling lucky because it’s lottery season! Here are important lotteries opening/closing in March:
- Mt. Whitney: closes March 1 (tips)
- The Enchantments: closes March 1 (tips)
- Half Dome: March 1–31 (tips)
- Yellowstone: March 1–20
- Mt. Rainier: closes March 3
- North Cascades: March 3–14
- Glacier: March 15
- Yosemite: weekly (tips)
And permit releases:
- Rocky Mountain: March 1
- Indian Peaks Wilderness: March 4
- Zion (including the Narrows): March 5

Amid the administration change, we’re still waiting to hear if Yosemite and Mount Rainier National Parks will implement entrance reservations this summer. But I’ll make sure to let you know when we hear more!
California
Half Dome, Yosemite — day-use
