Hey all,
I hope your summer is off to a good start. As always, if you’re looking for a permit, many parks are still releasing last-minute permits, and you can get notified when we find cancellations.
What to watch out for in August
- Aug 1: Mount St. Helens reservations open for trips in September.
- Aug 1: Rocky Mountain entrance reservations open for trips in September.
- Aug 1–25: Enter Zion’s Subway lottery for trips between October 1 and December 31.
- Aug 1–31: Enter The Wave lottery for trips in December.
California
Half Dome, Yosemite — day-use

Yosemite — overnight
